XML ist ein offizieller Standard des W3C. XML verfuegt gegenueber der Mark Up Sprache HTML nicht ueber eine feste Anzahl an Befehlen sondern bietet eine Spezifikation, auf deren Grundlage ein Set an Befehlen fuer bestimmte, auch industrielle, Zwecke definiert werden koennen. XHMTL ist ein XML Standard mit festen Definitionen und XML Eigenschaften, der wie HTML verwendet werden kann aber nicht von jedem Browser unterstützt wird.
